All too often in professional sports the coach or the manager is the designated scapegoat for all the ills and shortcomings of a losing team.

With our Chicago Bears, the situation seems to be the direct opposite. It seems that everyone except Dave Wannstedt and his coaching staff are to blame for the Bears’ sorry finish.

In fact, Wannstedt is fast becoming the Teflon coach-none of his team’s failures rub off on him. It would well serve the Chicago Bears if Wannstedt would look inward and accept the fact that the team’s failures are not all the fault of the players, the front office and the past regime.
