A decorated custom model is open at Abbey Woods, a wooded community in south suburban Frankfort. The model, built by Flaherty Construction, is on one of 118 homesites. Developed by Frankfort Partners, 93-acre Abbey Woods has sites ranging from one-third to 2 1/2 acres priced from $85,000 to $160,000.
The two-story, 3,800-square-foot model sits on a one-third-acre site. The living room and master bedroom feature floor-to-ceiling window bays. It has four bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a two-story foyer with a marble floor and brass chandelier, angled custom oak staircase, family room with brick fireplace, den with cathedral ceiling and a three-car garage. It is priced at $465,000.
Other homes planned for the community are expected to offer 3,000-plus square feet of living space and to be priced from $375,000 and up.
Abbey Woods is on LaGrange Road, one mile north of U.S. Highway 30 (Lincoln Highway) and three miles south of Interstate Highway 80.
– All single-family homes at Deer Point Trails in north suburban Hainesville have been redesigned to accommodate English basements, according to Rich Pietranke, president of Deer Point Homes. For a limited time, these new window basements will be available at no additional cost, he said.
Eight floor plans are available at Deer Point Trails. The ranch, split-level and two-story homes typically have 1,238 to 2,150 square feet of living space, but with English basements, living area can be expanded by 600 to 1,000 square feet.
All homes with English basements include an 8-by-8 foot wood deck, two full-size windows and an exterior door in the basement. A roughed-in bathroom and 9-foot ceilings in the English basements are optional.
Deer Point Trails is on the north side of Illinois Highway 120, two miles west of Illinois Highway 83.
– The first custom home model is open at Ivanhoe Estates, a golf-course community in north suburban Ivanhoe that offers 68 lots ranging from a third to 1 1/2 acre. Custom homes and villas are available.
Ivanhoe Estates, by Laser Development, is a rolling 383-acre parcel that intermingles with the Ivanhoe Club golf course. The lots offer sewer/water connections and are priced from $139,000.
The 4,060 square-foot-model, built by Chic Martin Signature Homes, sits on a half-acre lot. It features living, family and breakfast rooms with large windows and french doors that provide unobstructed views of the golf course. The positioning of the home also allows for a window-lined, English-style basement that can be finished to provide an additional 1,900 square feet of living space.
The four bedroom, 5 1/2-bath home has a living room with a European stone fireplace and two-story ceiling; a formal dining room with tray ceiling; family room with a lanon stone fireplace, entertainment center and cathedral ceiling; and a library with cherry wood raised paneling and custom cabinets. Styled in French country architecture, the stone and stucco/plaster home with wood shingles and copper flashing is priced at $697,500.
Two a more models, also custom designs, are under construction by Creative Living Inc. and Countryside Homes Corp. Laser Development recently broke ground on another custom home and plans to complete it this spring.
Besides single-family homes, four villa floor plans are available, ranging from 2,641 to 2,871 square feet and featuring two or three bedrooms and 2 or 2 1/2 baths. A number of the villas also include a walk-out basement that adds 1,500 to 1,700 square feet to each home. All designs feature first-floor master bedroom suites, volume ceilings in living rooms and dining rooms, separate breakfast areas, and attached two car garages with a separate entrance for golf carts. Base prices for the maintenance-free villas range from $369,000 to $399,000.
Ivanhoe Estates is on Illinois Highway 60, one mile north of Illinois Highway 176.
– Three villa townhouses, including a ranch home design, are available for occupancy within 30 days at Calla Trace in southwest suburban Joliet, Walnick Development said. The homes are among a total of 48 townhouses planned for the development.
The two-bedroom homes under construction will display a variety of ranch and two-story floor plans with brick exterior fronts and professional landscaping, according to Walter Yangus, president of Walnick Development. Ranging from 1,116 to 1,427 square feet, the homes are base-priced from $118,000 to $131,000.
Calla Trace is on Calla Street and Thomas Hickey Drive, one block east of Essington Road in Joliet. The site is a half-mile south of Caton Farm Road and east of Interstate Highway 55. It is being marketed by ReMax All Properties of Frankfort.
– Concord Lake in northwest suburban Niles is Concord Homes’ best-selling community, according to William A. Maybrook, executive vice president of sales and marketing for the Palatine-based company.
More than 90 homes have been sold in four months at the development planned for 126 townhouses with condominium ownership. Five floor plans in single-level and two-story designs offer two or three bedrooms and one to 2 1/2 baths have 1,060 to 1,488 square feet of living space priced from $122,490 to $149,990.
Maybrook said monthly association fees are expected to range from $72 to $101 to cover maintenance of common areas, green spaces, building exteriors, walks and driveways as well as trash collection, lawn care and snow removal.
Models are expected to open this spring, when first deliveries are scheduled.
To visit the preview sales center at the Golf Glen Mart shopping center, at Golf and Dee Roads, take Interstate Highway 94 and exit at Dempster Street (Illinois Highway 58) west to Waukegan Road. Go north on Waukegan Road to Golf Road, then west on Golf Road to Dee Road.
– Ravinia Woods in north suburban Gurnee has introduced the Symphony Series of single-family homes featuring four new designs, according to Michael Schall, vice president of sales and marketing for Sundance Homes.
The 200-acre community will include 406 single-family homes in three series when complete. Built on the site of the former Clavey Nursery, the development offers homes priced from $152,990 to $162,990 for the Vista Homes and $181,990 to $193,990 for the Ravinia Homes.
Homes in the Symphony Series are priced from $209,990 to $234,990.
Symphony Series floor plans include nine-foot ceilings, fireplaces, entertainment centers and ceramic flooring in foyers and baths. Basements and three-car garages are standard.
The four new designs range from 2,638 to 3,118 square feet. Each includes four bedrooms, 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 baths, a master bedroom suite and kitchen with built-in appliances.
Ravinia Woods is at U.S. Highway 45 and Knowles Road, one-half mile north of Washington Street.
Meanwhile, Schall said that more than 30 homes have sold at Heartland Meadows, Sundance’s single-family subdivision in northwest suburban Elgin.
