But you didn’t have to struggle to find stylish toppers designed for show and snow. We found them on North Michigan Avenue. From velvet crushers to felt fedoras, furs to stocking caps. Even cowboy hats.
Dick Lemmon, a creative director at the Ogilvy & Mather advertising agency, says the big brim keeps snow at bay and the hat keeps body heat in. The beaver felt version he had on when we met him was from Gallup, N.M., and just one of the couple dozen he owns.
“I’m 10 percent cowboy,” says the Midwestern native. “I wear them all the time, every day-but just one at a time.”
