Two people were injured last week after an apparent drag race went awry, police said. Police said a 1974 BMW 2002 driven by Matthew Minogue, 21, of 881 Maryknoll Circle, Glen Ellyn, was apparently drag racing with another car heading west on Roosevelt Road near the North-South Tollway when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, spun across a median into traffic traveling east on Roosevelt and struck a 1990 Geo Prizm driven by Lawanda McLain, 25, of Villa Park. Both Minogue and McLain were taken to GlenOaks Medical Center in Glendale Heights, where they were treated and released. A third driver, Edward Ryan, 41, of 333 Evergreen Ct., Bolingbrook, and Minogue were ticketed for drag racing. Minogue was also cited for improper lane use. McLain was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance.
