Caremark International Inc.’s fourth-quarter profit rose to $22.2 million, or 30 cents a share, from a loss of $15.2 million, or 22 cents a share, a year earlier. The 1992 quarter had been affected by $54.3 million in charges related to restructuring and the spinoff of Caremark from Baxter International Inc. Sales rose 19 percent, to $460 million from $386 million a year earlier.
For 1993, Northbrook-based Caremark’s first full year as an independent company, net income rose 185 percent, to $78 million, or $1.06 a share, from $27 million, or 39 cents a share, in 1992. Revenues rose to $1.78 billion from $1.46 billion.
