U.S. Secret Service agents have arrested a Chicago man who allegedly passed at least three counterfeit $100 bills in Lake County last fall.
Osita I. Oruche III, 35, of 4334 N. Hazel St., was charged with three counts of felony forgery after being arrested outside his home Thursday, authorities said.
According to police reports, Oruche passed the counterfeit money at the Shell gas station, 655 Waukegan Rd., and Joe’s Amoco, at Lake-Cook and Waukegan Roads, on Oct. 24 in Deerfield, and passed another $100 bill at the Standard gas station, 530 N. Western Ave. in Lake Forest, on Oct. 25.
