Saturday will be the end of the line for weekend service on a Pace route running from downtown Waukegan to Great Lakes Naval Training Center.

Route 563, which serves Waukegan, Abbott Labs, the Veterans Administration Hospital, the Chicago Medical School and the Great Lakes Metra railroad station, is being discontinued because of low ridership and budget cuts, said Mindy Laflamme, Pace spokeswoman.

Weekday service on the line will continue.

Riders who use the bus to reach 16th Street and Sheridan Road may use the Route 564 Jackson bus or the Route 567 Ports of Call bus that offers daily service from Great Lakes to the VA Hospital, Lakehurst Mall and Gurnee Mills.
