A recently released survey conducted by the Geneva Public Library shows that a majority of patrons favor keeping the facility downtown.
Also, nearly 42 percent of the cardholders surveyed said they would be willing to pay $40 or less in additional taxes, and almost 28 percent said they would pay from $41 to $60 more, said director Jeanne Hinze.
The district has tried twice to win voter approval for an increase to pay for higher operating costs so the facility can be expanded. A third attempt is scheduled for March 15.
The October survey also found that patrons in favor of user fees to reduce some expenses and that the parking around the library is adequate.
