I am tired of hearing gun control opponents trying to rationalize a need for freedom of gun ownership.

The bottom line is this: In the United States it is a privilege, not a right, to operate a motor vehicle because its potential misuse can cause injury or death. And yet ownership of a gun-designed to cause injury or death-is considered a right. If you think a drunk, drugged, angry or emotionally unstable person behind the wheel of a car is dangerous, just imagine that same person behind the barrel of a gun.
