Mt. Prospect-based Salton/Maxim Housewares Inc.’s $1.2 million settlement with shareholders who sued over the company’s initial public offering has been derailed by the Delaware Supreme Court.
The court refused to approve the settlement because it questioned whether the plaintiff in the class-action suit is a suitable representative of shareholders who allegedly were shortchanged.
The case was sent back to Delaware Chancery Court.
