On Dec. 1, Northern Illinois women’s basketball coach Jane Albright-Dieterle insisted her Huskies’ 0-3 start wasn’t something to panic about.

“I know I sound like a crazy lady, but this team can shoot,” said Albright-Dieterle, following NIU’s 90-79 loss to Southern Cal, a game in which the Huskies shot 33 percent. “If we were 3-0, I’d be thinking the same thing. I know where we’ll be in February and March.”

Driving for a fifth consecutive postseason tournament appearance.

Since that December night, Northern has rattled off 14 straight wins, and it goes for a team record-tying 15th Tuesday night at Northwestern. The Huskies improved to 11-0 Saturday in the Mid-Continent Conference with an 83-58 victory at Wright State.

Senior E.C. Hill continues to lead NIU with a 22.5-point average.
