Cash back plan: Chase Manhattan Corp. upped the ante in the highly competitive credit card business Thursday by launching a card that pays money back to users for purchases and for keeping a balance. Cardholders will get cash equal to 1 percent of purchases totaling $200 or more each month. Chase also will give customers cash equal to 10 percent of their finance charge each month they carry a balance. The card is similar to the Discover card, the most well-known cash-back credit card.
