I’m simply appalled by Gov. Jim Edgar’s pardon of four women convicted of murder. It is not the “battered women syndrome”; it is simply a ploy to court women’s votes. Frankly, I do not think women are that politically naive not to see what the pardons are all about.

If the good governor persists in such pardons, why even try such women to begin with? Let’s save all the taxpayers thousands of dollars and pardon them immediately, even before trial.
