More money: Eight Chicago-area women-owned businesses will create 60 jobs, thanks to the State Treasurer’s Women’s Finance Initiative, according to spokeswoman Kim Braxton. Founded in 1991, the initiative extends low-interest loans to women-owned businesses by depositing state funds in banks that make the loans.
