A Tribune editorial, “Reckoning the cost of bias” (May 28), informs us that six black Secret Service agents assigned to a guard detail for President Clinton were unable to obtain service at a Denny’s restaurant while more than a dozen white agents who entered the restaurant along with them were served. This is a scandal, as your editorial properly noted. But there is another issue: Why did the white agents remain and eat in the restaurant? They should have walked out in protest.
