Suit tossed: A federal judge has told United Parcel Service and the Teamsters Union to work out their differences through bargaining or before an arbitrator. U.S. District Judge Joyce Green in Atlanta dismissed UPS’ $50 million suit against the union. She also dismissed a countersuit filed by the union asking for payment of lost wages for workers. Atlanta-based UPS was seeking damages following a one-day strike Feb. 7. Workers were protesting having to handle heavier packages. The judge ruled that the contract between the union and company dictated that claims from both sides should be bargained over or arbitrated.
