Village officials added to their growing land holdings this week, annexing a 50-acre parcel known as the Frank property.
The land, on the east side of Illinois Highway 83 and south of Grand Avenue, will be subdivided for a number of uses, according to zoning measures also approved at a Lake Villa Village Board meeting Wednesday.
About 23 acres are slated for 110 town homes, while 17.2 acres will be the site for as many as 38 single-family homes. The remaining 8.4 acres would be left for commercial use.
One of the property’s trustees, Rob Frank, said the property will be put on the market for sale to developers within a couple of weeks. Frank said he would look for one builder to develop both the town homes and single-family residences.
