Amoco Corp. has scheduled a news conference Thursday on “a major restructuring,” its second in two years. Chicago-based Amoco would not say how many jobs are on the line. Amoco had 46,000 workers at the end of 1993, including 7,750 in Illinois. In 1992 Amoco cut about 16 percent of its work force, or 8,500 jobs.
