Black Beauty. G. Another movie remake of the classic story of Beauty, a horse that goes from a comfortable country stable to the mean streets of London.

The Mask. PG-13. Jim Carrey (“Ace Ventura”) stars as an average guy who gets his hands on an ancient mask that gives him super powers, in a movie with loads of bizarre special effects.

Angels in the Outfield. PG. Average rating: (Star)(Star)(Star). Only an 11-year-old boy can see angels helping out a really crummy California Angels baseball team managed by Danny Glover in this Disney movie. “What’s next, `Angels in the End Zone’?”- Yehuda K., 12, Lincolnwood.

The Client. PG-13. (Send us your ratings!) An 11-year-old needs a hot-shot lawyer’s help when he is hunted by the mob and hassled by an aggressive prosecuting attorney.

The Flintstones. PG. Average rating: (Star)(Star)(Star). Live-action version of Hanna-Barbera’s cartoon, with John “Roseanne” Goodman as Fred. “It was great, especially John Goodman.”-Phillip H., 9, Chicago.

Forrest Gump. PG-13. Average rating: (Star)(Star)(Star)(Star). Oscar-winner Tom Hanks (“Philadelphia”) as a not-too-bright guy who does some amazing things during his life. “It was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.”-Shannan B., 13, Island Lake.

Lassie. PG. (Send us your ratings!) That pooch you’ve got to love stars in a new adventure, which pits a sheep-herding family against rival neighbors in a land dispute.

The Lion King. G. Average rating: (Star)(Star)(Star)(Star). Disney’s animated feature is about the adventures of young lion cub Simba, who is next to be king of the jungle. “I believe it stinks.”-Candace C., 12, Orland Park.

Little Big League. PG. Average rating: (Star)(Star)(Star). Comedy about a 12-year-old who inherits the Minnesota Twins from his grandfather and becomes the manager. “It shows that sports are just to have fun.”-Dustin C., 11, Burr Ridge.

North. PG. (Send us your ratings!) Elijah Wood (“Huck Finn”) is a kid who “divorces” his parents and goes all over the world looking for new ones, in a comedy-fantasy with an all-star cast.

The Return of Jafar. G. Average rating: (Star)(Star)(Star). Video sequel of Disney’s “Aladdin,” with Dan “Homer Simpson” Castellaneta voicing the Genie instead of Robin Williams. “It was the worst movie I ever saw!”-Katie M., 11, Chicago.
