Police were searching for a man who is believed to have stolen two paintings valued at $6,000 apiece from Lake Forest College. College officials reported to police Thursday that the paintings had been taken from North Hall and Durand Hall. One painting by Conrad Marca-Relli is a collage entitled “Image 18,” while the other is a portrait by Leon Golub that depicts a mummy’s torso, according to reports. Officials gave police a description of a man who was seen in the area where the paintings were taken.
