A financial gift from a school board member will benefit a school-to-work program.
Lou Golden, president and chief executive officer of Unicorn Manufacturing Inc. of Montgomery, donated $7,000 this year to support the program, which helps teachers to develop work-based experiences for students, said Karl Plank, superintendent of Oswego School District 308.
Golden had donated $7,000 to the program last year and recently made the district the beneficiary of a $2 million life insurance policy.
“We have also written other programs, such as apprentice, job-shadowing and mentorship programs, which we hope will be funded,” said Plank. “We are looking for an expansion of corporate support.”
