Phillip R. Paris, 83, retired director of research and development for Michael Reese Hospital, died Wednesday in his North Side home. For 36 years, Mr. Paris was director of development for the Combined Jewish Appeal of Chicago, which later became the Jewish United Fund. He became director of research and development for Michael Reese Hospital, a position he held for 12 years until his retirement in 1978. Mr. Paris is survived by his wife, Esther; a son, Barry; two daughters, Susan Barak and Patricia Paris; and a sister. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Piser Weinstein Menorah Chapels, 3019 W. Peterson Ave.
