Abraham Jakubowich, 76, of Skokie, a former restaurant owner and Holocaust survivor, died Tuesday in Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie. He was born in Poland and was a survivor of the Auschwitz camp. He came to the United States in 1949. In 1952, he opened the Delite Restaurant in the 2700 block of West Touhy Avenue in Chicago. He owned the Thorndale Delicatessen in 1100 block of West Thorndale Avenue in Chicago from 1954 until he retired in 1987. Survivors include a daughter, Frances; a son, Robert; and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Piser Weinstein Menorah Chapels, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd., Skokie.
