Two gunmen opened fire in a South Side sandwich shop Friday night, wounding four people, Chicago police said.

Three of the victims remained hospitalized Saturday afternoon, one of them in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the abdomen, according to police and hospital reports.

Sgt. Ronald Palmer of the Pullman Area violent crimes unit said the four people were in Tasty Submarine, 2759 E. 79th St., about 11:50 p.m. when two armed men entered.

No words were exchanged, Palmer said. He said witnesses told police that the gunmen opened fire and left in a blue Pontiac with a white top and no license plates.

Jameel Hamilton, 16, was in critical condition Saturday afternoon at Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to a nursing supervisor.

Palmer said the three other victims suffered minor gunshot wounds to their arms and legs.

A 16-year-old girl whose name was not released was in stable and good condition at South Shore Hospital, a nursing supervisor said.

Raymond Calhoun, 22, of the 7900 block of South Manistee Avenue, was treated at Jackson Park Hospital and released, a nursing supervisor said.
