Now maybe Michael and Lisa Marie can get on with their lives.
Last week, Los Angeles legal eagles said they wouldn’t charge Jackson with child molestation. The main reason, they said, was that the boy who made accusations against Jackson refused to testify. The boy, now 14, reached an out-of-court settlement in a lawsuit against Jackson last year, reportedly for millions of dollars.
The case is not closed, though. It will remain open for five years, meaning if the boy decides to testify, Jackson could face charges. But Jackson’s lawyer, Howard Weitzman, said, “We believe it is over.”
The pop star said in a statement: “I am grateful to all of my family, friends and fans who have stood by me and also believed in my innocence. Lisa Marie and I look forward to getting on with our lives, raising a family, and will never forget the unending outpouring of love from all over the world.”
