The Morningside Group is planning to build a five-story condominium, Morningside Terrace, at 2601 Central St. in Evanston.
The steel-frame, brick building will consist of 24 condominiums. The site is occupied by two vacant structures that will be razed. One of the buildings, a former railroad employees’ retirement home, has a modern commercial kitchen that will be dismantled and donated to the Lawndale Christian Development Corp.
Six floor plans, ranging from 1,423 to 1,615 square feet, will have two-bedroom, two-bedroom-plus-family room or three-bedroom layouts; all will have two baths. Base prices range from $189,900 to $230,900.

– Six model homes are for sale in the Cambridge Country Garden Homes series in north suburban Mundelein. The homes are planned for occupancy in late spring, according to developer Cambridge Homes, which plans to continue to use them for public viewing until the last homes are sold.

– Kennedy Community Development is planning a community of single-family homes called Longford Glen in Des Plaines.
The subdivision will be adjacent to the four-year-old Kylemore Greens development. Kennedy plans to build 74 single-family homes on the 55-acre site on Wolf Road, north of Central Road in Des Plaines.

– Nine model homes by seven builders have opened at the Villages at Meadow Lakes in Aurora.
The Aurora Venture development consists of 420 homes in five neighborhoods. Phase I includes homes in the Baybrook neighborhood, priced from $161,000 to $190,000; Heatherwood, priced from $180,000 to $240,000; and Meadowbrook, priced from $230,000 to $300,000. Six of the models are on the same street in Heatherwood; the remaining three are in Baybrook, where Heritage Homes is the exclusive builder.
