Fred Appel, 82, a former Chicago resident and salesman in the meat industry, died Tuesday in Pembroke Pines, Fla. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Susan Jarrett; a son, Stuart; and four grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday in Hollywood, Fla.
