The city Plan Commission is unanimously backing plans for Lake Forest Place, a continuing-care retirement community slated for a 49-acre site just north of Lake Forest Hospital and east of Waukegan Road.
The proposal was brought before the commission Monday by Presbyterian Homes, a non-profit Evanston-based agency. According to plans, several different types of housing would be built to accommodate various levels of care. The proposal calls for individual cottages, apartments, assisted living units, a nursing home and a community center.
“We have the full spectrum of facilities and care for older adults,” said Peter Mulvey, Presbyterian Homes president and chief executive officer. “The continuing-care retirement community has everything in one complex.”
The City Council may review plans in January.
