As a graduate of the University of Illinois, class of 1935, I take exception to one of your sportswriters-namely Melissa Isaacson. Isaacson said Penn State “tries hard to pretend it’s glad to be in the Rose Bowl.” Hogwash. What a negative thing to say. I have been to the Rose Parade and game eight times. I didn’t care who played the football game. The whole Tournament of Roses was a lot of fun. Tell Isaacson to wake up.
