The village will spend $600,000 to rehabilitate one of its major thoroughfares, Deerfield Road, between Waukegan Road and the east village limits.

The road will be resurfaced in a project expected to start in May and to take about two months, village officials said.

Officials said a traffic signal will be installed and renovations made at the intersection of Carlisle Avenue and Deerfield and Heather Roads.
