A former Cook County sheriff’s deputy pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to possessing nearly 9 pounds of cocaine with the intent to distribute.
Darrell Daily, 29, of Chicago faces up to 7 years in prison when he is sentenced in June.
Daily was a bailiff last July at the courtroom at 51st Street and Wentworth Avenue when he agreed to provide 5 kilograms of cocaine to a Drug Enforcement Administration undercover agent, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Sergio Acosta.
