The village’s engineering committee granted Commonwealth Edison an easement Thursday night enabling the utility to complete its new $6 million power station in time for summer.

The easement allows a large junction box at Schaumburg and Roselle Roads that will connect feeder lines to the station at 621 E. Schaumburg Rd.

The facility will dramatically improve service to the entire village, particularly the southwest quadrant, which has been plagued by power outages, said Edison public affairs director Wayne Laursen.
