Police arrested a 17-year-old Round Lake High School student on charges of battery and unlawful use of a weapon for allegedly hitting a 20-year-old man in the leg with a baseball bat following a dispute over a basketball game. Richard Wood of 1609 Woodbine Drive was arrested on the charges Tuesday, but the incident occurred May 28, according to police reports. Police said Wood and the victim exchanged threats during a basketball game and Wood left the playground and returned with a baseball bat and a pair of brass knuckles. The victim said Wood attempted to hit him with the brass knuckles but missed.
