Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
I found your June 8 story and photos in Tempo concerning the rediscovered art at Lane Tech High School to be most important. The work done in the 1930s by Works Progress Administration artists and others are a vital element in the history of our country and the people who built it.
I was disappointed only in the lack of depth of the article concerning the subject matter of each mural. Perhaps, as the work at Lane Tech progresses, we will get more information on the artists’ treatment of work and workers in the context of the Chicago area, and perhaps the nation at large.
