An item in a recent issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, mentioned in a June 14 Chicagoland story, should be must reading for all members of the National Rifle Association.
It seems that intruders broke into the homes of 200 Atlanta gun owners last summer while the owners were at home, but only in three cases did the victims use a firearm to defend themselves. Most of the homeowners didn’t have time to get to their weapons.
Here’s a bit of advice for all those gun owners who are screaming for their right to bear arms. When you retire at night, strap on your six-shooter over your pajamas so you can get the drop on the nasty intruder.
