Cook County Board President John Stroger Tuesday pushed aside his predecessor’s budget director and appointed Grace Colbert, 47, to the $95,709-a-year job. She replaces Charles Burbridge, an appointee of former Board President Richard Phelan.
Colbert has worked in a variety of financial posts for the county for 14 years and was a close associate of former Board President George Dunne. Burbridge will take over Colbert’s old job as deputy chief financial officer.
