– Will “Models Inc.” return to a Wednesday time slot this fall, and if so, will they pick up from the season finale?
Actually, “Models Inc.” won’t be in ANY time slot this fall, since Fox has cancelled the show. The serial was in ratings trouble virtually from the start, and we don’t know of any plans Fox has to wrap up the plots that were left dangling … particularly the one about the gunshot that was fired at the wedding of Monique (Stephanie Romanov) and Adam (James Wilder). One of the dangers of being invested in a continuing drama with low ratings is that “cliffhanger” season finales may never have a resolution, since the subsequent scripts usually haven’t even been written, pending a firm renewal for the next season. Unfortunately, that’s what “Models Inc.” fans have been caught in, but they’re certainly not the first ones; it happened to us with a mid-1980s CBS serial called “Emerald Point, N.A.S.”, which also was axed after its first year with many questions left unanswered.
– Al Michaels is now broadcasting horse races. Wasn’t he a detective on “Kojak”? I have a $5.00 bet riding on this.
Uhhh … we’re afraid you’re the one who’s going to have to pay up, since Michaels wasn’t one of “Kojak’s” crime-busters, at least to our knowledge. Our hunch is that you may be confusing him with Kevin Dobson, to whom he does bear a certain facial resemblance; Dobson did play Det. Bobby Crocker to Telly Savalas’ Kojak, then moved on to “Knots Landing.” Michaels, of course, also has been a member of ABC’s “Monday Night Football” announcing team since the mid-1980s.
– On “Happy Days,” did Tanya Tucker play Pinky or Leather Tuscadero? If not, who did?
No, the country-music star didn’t portray either of those two characters … though she probably could have done it quite well if she HAD been cast. Pinky was played by Roz Kelly, while Leather was enacted by singer Suzi Quatro, who got to croon some tunes on the show.
