Cards will determine strengths, situations, special abilities, objects that can be used for attack, and missions that characters have to go through. – No three-peat: Don’t look for Oscar Boy, Tommy Hanks, to win his third Academy Award in a row next year for “Apollo 13,” the true-life space adventure that comes out this Friday. “That won’t happen,” Tommy says. “The world is safe.” Tommy figures that since he’s part of a large cast, that he won’t be featured to the point where he could get a brother to go with his Oscars for “Philadelphia” and “Forrest Gump.”
– I “Oh I just can’t wait…”: Because Disney World still isn’t big enough to cover all of Florida, plans are on for Disney’s Wild Animal Kingdom, which is set to open in 1998. The theme park will feature real, mythological and dinosaur-like creatures as attractions, and plenty of thrill rides. The new park will join the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center and the Disney-MGM Studios in Orlando.
– Quick words: Singer Amy Grant is having some eye problems, so she’s canceled several concerts and an appearance on “The Tonight Show. … “Batman Forever” set a record when it pulled down almost $53 million its first weekend at the box office. … And “Batman” co-star Jim “The $7 Million Man” Carrey’s next movie is said to be “Cable Guy.” What?? Variety magazine says Jim’s new nickname may have to be changed to “The $20 Million Man,” the amount of cash he’ll get to act in that movie! Spank me!
