The District 200 School Board Referendum Advisory Committee asked for, and was granted, a 30-day extension to come up with a fall referendum proposal that the committee and the school board believe voters will accept.
During that time, one of two advisory panel subcommittees will consider the possibility of putting an addition on the high school. The other committee will consider building an elementary school on or adjacent to the Northwood Middle and Elementary Schools.
Meanwhile, the District 200 School Board, at its Wednesday night meeting, agreed to consider at its next meeting, in July, the possibility of selling the Raffel Road property.
The property, 120 acres on the northeastern edge of town, has been a source of considerable controversy since the board bought it in December 1991 as a site for a new high school.
Last April, voters defeated a $52 million referendum proposal that would have included funds to build the high school there.
