Police were trying to determine if recent burglaries of two businesses in the 700 block of West Golf Road were related to a string of similar incidents reported in the suburb over the last two weeks. Burglars targeted the About Hair salon, 745 W. Golf Rd., taking $55 last week, and an ice cream parlor in the same block during the same time period, taking $410 and gift certificates worth $200 from a safe, police said. At least a dozen break-ins and attempted burglaries of businesses have been reported recently, reports showed.
