Bally Entertainment Corp. said the first-week performance of its riverboat casino near New Orleans beat analysts’ expectations. The Chicago-based firm said the boat, which opened July 7, produced revenue exceeding $2 million from more than 48,000 patrons in its first week of operation. Analysts had predicted first-week earnings of $1.25 million to $1.5 million.
