Why must race always be discussed when writing about the selection of juries? It shouldn’t be an issue of how many African- American jurors there are or how many white jurors. It suggests that because a person is of a certain race, they make their decisions based on that.
Now I am not suggesting that no one makes decisions based on race, but to make an issue of it every time there is a well-publicized jury trial is an insult to whites and African-Americans and Hispanics and Asian-Americans. The same can be said for stating what gender a person is.
Please just state their occupation and leave it at that. Occupation suggests class and income, and that is the real thing that is dividing this country.
