Justice Department investigators have told defense attorneys they have evidence to bring price-fixing charges against major Nasdaq market dealers and have proposed settlement talks, said a source who spoke on condition of anonymity. “Initial discussions” concerning a possible consent agreement have begun between the department and lawyers for 33 Nasdaq dealers, the source said.
