A 42-year-old surveyor was killed by a freight train last week near Harrison and College Avenues. Police said Ronald Lynn Gale of Navarre, Fla., was working for C and S Surveying Co. of Naperville when he was hit by a westbound Union Pacific train. Gale was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
