Supporters of sexual-assault survivors and programs provided by the Lake County Council Against Sexual Assault can purchase a custom-inscribed brick on LaCASA’s “Inspiration Walkway.”

The bricks will serve as the main entry path to LaCASA’s permanent headquarters and counseling center in Gurnee and create a lasting reminder of individual and community support for the organization that is dedicated to serving the needs of survivors.

“These bricks have really caught on,” said Ann Subry, director of special events. “They make a wonderful holiday gift. We’ve sold about $2,000 worth of bricks already and the calls keep coming in.”

Those interested can purchase a single brick for $50 that will accommodate a 25-letter message, a double brick for $100 that will accommodate a 50-letter message or a large brick for $250. LaCASA also will include special logos and graphics upon request.

Each brick is acknowledged by an official certificate of ownership and bricks in memoriam also are available.

Started in 1983, LaCASA is a non-profit agency that provides services for victims of sexual assault, such as a 24-hour hot line, individual and group counseling, a children’s counseling program, and a community-education program that includes sexual-assault awareness, risk reduction and information about incest.
