The City Council passed a measure Tuesday that clears the way for a Huntley developer to build a professional building that may include a medical clinic.

The council’s approval to annex and rezone nearly 11 acres at 7416 N. U.S. Highway 14, came shortly after a meeting by the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals met and approved the project earlier that evening.

Mike King, president of Barringer Enterprises Inc., also had requested a conditional use permit to allow the building to include a medical clinic in the future.

King, who hopes to break ground for the project this spring, said he is uncertain if or when he would add the medical clinic to the building, but would like the option to do so.
