Commissioners agreed Monday night to change the wording of several ordinances in order to eliminate confusion.
In the village’s municipal code, a current ordinance declares that a lack of rats or other vermin around any other animal constitutes a public nuisance. As most people realize, the presence of rats or other vermin are what constitute a public nuisance, officials said, and the ordinance will be changed to reflect that.
The changes will also give the bearers of massage licenses in the village 10 business days from a suspension notice by the village before the license will be suspended. The current ordinance allows only 10 days, officials said.
