I would like to thank the anonymous good Samaritans who came to my aid on Feb. 7.
I am a senior at Wheaton-Warrenville South High School. On that Wednesday, I was heading back to school from my lunch break amid the rain and sleet. I hit a patch of black ice and lost control of my car at the 90-degree turn between Mack and Shafner Roads in Winfield. I do not remember the accident, but apparently I hit a telephone pole at a relatively high speed.
I was unconscious until I was met by the paramedics. I was told by the paramedics of your presence. I thank you so much for calling in for me and staying with me until the paramedics arrived. After a few days in the hospital, I was released with relatively minor injuries. I am very lucky, and I will make a full recovery in a few weeks. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me. Each one of you is a hero to me.
