The trial for two of three Palos Hills youths accused of conspiring to murder one of their families was postponed Friday until April 19.

The one-week delay was granted so that Martin Shapiro, the recently hired attorney for a 14-year-old girl whose three family members were targets of the alleged conspiracy, could familiarize himself with the case.

Shapiro also asked Associate Judge LaBrenda White of the Cook County Circuit Court in Bridgeview to consider trying the girl and a 16-year-old male co-defendant separately, saying the testimony of one may be used against the other.

The two teens remain in custody.

The third juvenile charged in the case is in the custody of an uncle and does not have a trial date yet.
