Mt. Carmel 11, St. Francis de Sales 1: Dan Lewandowski improved to 4-0 with a one-hit effort over five innings, and Paco Sanchez launched a three-run home run for No. 7 Mt. Carmel (12-1, 3-1) in Catholic League play. Phil Gianacakos added three hits and three RBIs.
Sandburg 1, Oak Lawn 0: Mike O’Donnell’s first-inning single scored Anthony Beard. Brian Forystek, who gave up five hits and struck out 11, improved to 5-0 for Sandburg (11-3).
Andrew 12, Reavis 5: Paul Massat’s three-run homer powered Andrew (11-2).
Bremen 9, Rich South 2: Bremen (9-3) cruised as Matt Zelenc went 3 for 4 with an RBI and Bruce Hill added two hits and three RBIs.
De La Salle 12, Bishop McNamara 6: De La Salle (13-4, 4-0) stayed unbeaten in the Catholic League as Kerron Walker homered with four RBIs and Frank Stephens improved to 5-1.
Providence 10, Crete-Monee 5: Providence (8-3) scored five in the seventh as Eric Hines (2 for 3) had three RBIs and Dan Joyce (2 for 3) two.
Lindblom 14, Harper 6: Derrick Key (4 for 5) drove in four runs and Terrance Jarmon homered.
Softball
Lockport 9, Bolingbrook 3: Gina Calderon (12-1) threw six innings of perfect relief and also drove in three runs on two doubles for the No. 3 Porters (12-1). Jenny Lindemann (3 for 5) added two triples and two RBIs.
Morris 14, Plainfield 1: Meghan Maskel (two RBIs) went 3 for 4 and Stefanie Steele drove in three runs with a pair of hits for Morris (12-1, 7-0) in the Suburban Prairie Red.
Joliet 12, Romeoville 0: Dawn Scheuber, who has allowed one earned run in 51 innings this year, toosed a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts to improve to 8-0 for No. 7 Joliet (13-2). Cheryl Oswald went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs.
Stagg 9, Richards 5: No. 9 Richards (9-3) fell to Stagg’s Laurie Markatos, who gave up nine hits but went 2 for 2 with two RBIs. Abby Booth (2 for 4) also drove in two runs for the Chargers (13-5), who led 7-0 until the sixth, when Richards scored four runs.
Illiana Christian 3, Nazareth 1: Kim DeYoung struck out nine and Autumn McGathey scored two runs for Illiana Christian, now 8-0 in the Private School League.
